A Snapshot of Lauren Golpl’s Life

Lauren Golpl is not just a teacher; she’s a dynamic force in the educational community. From Buffalo, NY, Lauren is a devoted mother of four boys—two biological sons and two bonus sons, in high school and middle school. When she’s not busy attending their sporting events or shuttling them around, Lauren loves spending time outdoors, dining at local restaurants, and tackling DIY projects with her fiancé.

 

Professional Journey and Classroom Expertise

Currently, Lauren is a first-grade teacher in a collaborative classroom setting, a unique approach where two general education classes merge to create a single, cohesive learning environment for 40 students. With eight years of teaching experience, Lauren’s enthusiasm for this innovative teaching model is palpable. Prior to her teaching career, Lauren spent seven years in crisis, suicide, and behavior intervention at the same school, equipping her with invaluable skills and insights into student behavior and support.

Lauren’s role extends beyond the classroom. She’s actively involved in several school-wide initiatives, including the planning and implementation team, leadership team, wellness team, and as the PBIS/SEL coach and coordinator. Her dedication to fostering a supportive and inclusive school environment is evident in her work and her commitment to student well-being.

The Heart of Buffalo Public Schools

Lauren teaches at Buffalo Public Schools, located in an urban area known for its diverse and high-need student population. The school is designated as a trauma/behavior school and has a significant number of English Language Learners (ELL). Serving a PreK-8 student body, Lauren’s school presents unique challenges and opportunities that she meets with unwavering passion and dedication.

Her passion for building strong relationships, promoting character education, and advocating for social-emotional learning is at the core of her educational philosophy.
